The state of California's new guidelines for public sector procurement, uses, and training of genAI include a toolkit that provides a model for companies and other private sector entities to use in their own choices concerning the use of AI systems. While specifics will certainly vary between sectors, all adopters of genAI tools need to consider many of the same issues: assessing risk, having processes concerning approvals, and sharing information and knowledge concerning their experiences with new tools.
